European Resources for Mediation Support (ERMES II)

Team Leader of ERMES II, the main EU support programme to mediation efforts. The Programme Management Unit is based in Brussels and works closely with the European Commission Foreign Policy Instrument’s Unit (FPI), and the European External Action Service (EEAS).

ERMES is the EU mechanism for supporting global mediation for peace building efforts. It provides quick response and capacity building assistance, research expertise, as well as facilitation and logistical support to engage with and involve third parties in mediation processes at international, national and local levels.

Provision of the Team Leader of the Programme Management Unit (PMU) in Brussels, with a capacity to recruit, deploy and oversee mediation, peacebuilding and thematic specialists (700wd of non-key experts). Orchestrates specific assignments focused on Yemen, Central African Republic, Libya, and global knowledge management, sharing and communication.

Beneficiaries of the programme include international and regional organisations, official, non-governmental and informal national actors (from ministries to grassroots organisations), and specialised international NGOs operating in the peace and mediation sector.

ERMES is implemented by Transtec (consultancy) in consortium with CMI - Crisis Management Initiative (Finland), HD - Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (Switzerland), ACCORD - African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (South Africa), SfCG - Search for Common Ground (Belgium), IA -International Alert (UK).
